Goggles
All of our prescription goggles use inserts. Why use inserts and not wear the “over the glasses” goggles? Mainly for comfort and fog resistance. When you put goggles on over your glasses, it puts pressure on both your nose and temples, and tends to bend up your glasses. It also pushes them closer to your face which makes them fog easier and can distort your vision. We use our unique formulas to account for the fit of the adaptors so you get the best possible vision with little or no fogging. In the store, we carry Smith and Zeal as we find them to be the highest of quality. We can, however, Rx almost any goggle that you would like to bring us.
We believe after extensive testing that the inserts work much better than the direct lens goggles. With the direct lens goggles, you lose your thermal barrier because it is only a single lens. They will fog very easily. Secondly, if they scratch with snow and ice hitting them it is more expensive to replace the whole prescription lens and not just the exterior goggle lens and keep the same insert.

Smith
We can put inserts in just about any Smith goggle, but we believe strongly in the Turbo Cam series. For those of you who produce a lot of heat or are doing extreme conditions, the turbo cam has a small fan which will pull the heat away from your face so both the goggles and the insert will not fog. The turbo fan series comes in 3 styles and different lenses for different conditions. Please call for all lens options.

Zeal
Zeal Optics is a local, Boulder based company. They are most known for their quality lenses. The Zeal’s that we carry have exceptional polarized and photochromic lenses. The polarized lenses will cut the suns glare reflecting off of the snow, and the photochromic aspect will change depending on the suns UV rays. The top of the line Zeal lenses come in SPPX which is a spherical lens which is said to give enhanced peripheral vision. Their photochromic lenses will change from 13%-43% visible light transmission depending on the conditions. Zeal also has a new GPS goggle called the Transcend. This is the most technologically intense goggle on the market. See the description down below for more information. All frames available in matte carbon black or matte carbon white. |
